I HAVE GONE THROUGH ALMOST EVERY PHASE OF FITNESS THERE IS. I'VE GONE THROUGH THE WEIGHT LOSS PHASE HAVING LOST ALMOST 80 LBS GOING FROM 260 LBS TO ABOUT 180 LBS FROM HEAVIEST TO LIGHTEST. I'VE BECOME AN AVID RUNNER COMPLETING THE SAN DIEGO ROCK AND ROLL MARATHON IN 2011. SEVERAL 5KS, TWO TOUGH MUDDERS, SPARTAN RACES AND WARRIOR DASHES. IN AN EFFORT TO BECOME AS PHYSICALLY FIT AS POSSIBLE, I STARTED BOXING AND ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SPORT. I BECAME A PERSONAL TRAINER IN 2012 WITH THE HOPE OF INTRODUCING OTHERS TO A LIFESTYLE THAT I HAD COMPLETELY SUBMERGED MYSELF IN. becoming certified as an mat specialist opened the floodgates on my desire to learn. my current fascination is the brain's role in fitness and overall well being. This is where z health comes in. After attending a z health essentials weekend and becoming a student of Norman Doidge, m.d., reading his work every chance i get, I find myself starved for more information as to how to get the brain, central nervous system and muscular system working as efficiently as possible to maximize our output.
back to putting it all together. i believe that we were given a gift; a gift of life and an awe inspiring vehicle in which to live it. our bodies are incredibly complex, marvelous and mysterious pieces of machinery that we still don't completely understand. we do, however, understand much more today than we did even just 20 years ago. For example, we now know that the brain is neuroplastic. neuroplasticity is the property of the brain that enables it to change its own structure and functioning in response to activity and mental experience. This means that we can retrain our brains to perform tasks or activities we thought we may have been incapable of doing. in order to accomplish this, however, our muscles need to contract efficiently as we build our new skill. this is where muscle health center can help.
